Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has a profound impact on the global
political, economic and social development pattern. This paper analyzes the impact
of COVID-19 pandemic on China’s nuclear energy development from the aspects
of energy development, industrial chain construction, technological innovation,
international competition and cooperation, and proposes relevant suggestions.

Abstract: HPR1000 is a major achievement of the development of China’s
nuclear industry, and also an important symbol of China’s progress from a nuclear
giant to a nuclear power. This paper mainly reviews the development of HPR1000
technology research and development, engineering design and construction, fuel
development and other fields, and summarizes the main experience of HPR1000
technology innovation and project implementation in vigorously developing
coordination, independent innovation, open cooperation, party building leadership,
etc. It is suggested that the successful research and development of HPR1000 and
the smooth implementation of the project are of great signifi cance for promoting the
development level of China’s nuclear power into the forefront of the world, driving
the upgrading of the industrial chain and equipment manufacturing industry, and
