25 Nuclear Energy Industry NGOs, Including the China Nuclear Energy Association, Issue a Joint Declaration at the Second Nuclear Energy Summit
On 10 March, the Second Nuclear Energy Summit, co-organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the French government, took place in Paris. At the invitation of the French Nuclear Industry Association (GIFEN), Cao Shudong, Executive Vice Chairman of the China Nuclear Energy Association, signed a joint declaration on behalf of the association.
The declaration reaffirms the role of nuclear energy as a key pillar of sustainable, secure and resilient energy systems. It calls on countries worldwide to strengthen their focus on the nuclear energy industry, promote the development of nuclear energy and technology, provide support and guarantees for the financing of nuclear energy projects, and increase professionals development in the nuclear energy sector.
The signatories include industry associations from 22 countries, namely Belgium, Canada, China, Finland, France, Italy, etc., as well as three international organizations, including the World Nuclear Association.
