On 22 June, Chinese Premier Li Qiang, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, conducted an inspection in Dalian, Liaoning Province.

Li urged the thorough implementation of President Xi Jinping’s important directives on the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China and the development of its modern industrial system in the new era. He emphasized the importance of pursuing intelligent, green and integrated development, striving for breakthroughs in original and cutting-edge technologies, strengthening the industrial base, developing the high-end equipment manufacturing sector, and accelerating the establishment of a modern industrial system to continuously drive high-quality development.

While visiting CFHI Dalian Nuclear Power and Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Li received a detailed briefing on the development of nuclear power and petrochemical equipment. He toured the workshop to observe the manufacturing of nuclear reactor pressure vessels and learn about the progress of major projects.

Li emphasized that advanced nuclear power technology and other high-end equipment are vital to national energy, industrial, and technological security. He called for deepening the integration of technological and industrial innovation, accelerating the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, enhancing original design and precision manufacturing capabilities, promoting the safe deployment of next-generation nuclear power technology, and better serving green and low-carbon development.

Li pointed out that building a modern industrial system requires nurturing emerging and future industries, as well as optimizing and upgrading traditional ones. He added that the research, development and production of high-end petrochemical equipment play a vital role in improving the quality and efficiency of related industries. He urged stronger digital and intelligent empowerment, advancement of standard upgrades, strict enforcement of environmental protection, energy efficiency and quality regulations, breakthroughs in landmark technological equipment, enhancement of industrial and supply chain resilience and security, and continuous strengthening of core competitiveness.

Li also exchanged views with technical staff on site, encouraging them to carry forward the spirit of craftsmanship and contribute to enterprise development and national construction.
