On 28 June, China made a significant advancement in its nuclear energy research by completing the first integrated test platform for dry reprocessing prototype at the Huludao site of the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). This marks successful transition from standalone research and development to full-system integration of the core process equipment for dry reprocessing in the integrated closed-cycle fast reactor nuclear energy system, paving the way for subsequent verification tests.

The integrated dry reprocessing test platform is a key component of the Key Technology Research Project for Integrated Closed-Cycle Fast Reactor Systems. It simulates hot cell conditions, enabling remote operation, maintenance and material transfer. It also validates multiple dry reprocessing process designs.
