An important milestone was reached on 27 September with the pouring of the first concrete for the nuclear island of Unit 4 of Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant Phase II project, amid the simultaneous batch construction of Hualong One reactor series. As the first project of the Hualong One series, Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant has started the construction of four units with strict adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the process.

Unit 1 is scheduled to be commissioned by 2024, while Unit 2 is progressing towards the cold test phase. Construction of Unit 3 started on 22 February this year, and preparatory work for Units 5 and 6 is progressing well.
