At exactly 10:58 a.m. on 28 July 2024, China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) marked a significant milestone with the pouring of the first concrete for the nuclear island of Ningde Nuclear Power Plant Unit 5 in Fujian Province. This event marks the formal commencement of the main construction work for the Hualong One unit and heralds the full start of the second phase of Ningde Nuclear Power Project.

The development of Units 5 and 6 in the second phase of the project promises to increase the share of clean energy in Fujian Province, providing an even greater boost to the province’s pursuit of high-quality economic and social development.
