On May 17, 2023, CNNC's seawater uranium extraction sea test platform was completed and put into use and opened to the public for the first time. On the same day, the 2023 Seawater Uranium Extraction Technology Innovation Alliance Council and Academic Exchange Conference with the theme of "Collaborative Innovation·Creating the Future" was held in Hainan Province. It is reported that the field test is a key link related to the success of seawater uranium extraction technology. At present, only a few organizations in China have carried out field tests of seawater uranium extraction, and CNNC's seawater uranium extraction test platform is China's largest seawater uranium extraction test platform built in the South China Sea with the ability to carry out material verification and scale-up experiments under real ocean conditions, and will be open to  alliance members for use in the future.
